A hypnotic collision of dream pop, shoegaze, and 90s alternative rock, Soft Siren’s debut album 4AM explores the strange intimacy of the hours between darkness and dawn. Steeped in nostalgia and longing, their music exists somewhere between the cinematic mystique of David Lynch, the psychedelia of the late 1960s, and the hazy melancholy of 90s bands such as Mazzy Star, Slowdive, and Lush. Ethereal yet sultry vocals drift over washed-out guitars and downcast grooves, drifting between love, California heat, comedowns, and the strange clarity that comes when everyone else is asleep.
